Therapeutic Massage

The main purpose of massage therapy is to increase the oxygen flow in the blood and release toxins from the muscles. Massage shortens recovery time from muscular strain by flushing the tissues of lactic acid, uric acid, and other metabolic wastes. It increases circulation without increasing the heart load. It stretches the ligaments and tendons keeping them supple and pliable.

Massage calms the nerves, thereby reducing stress, both emotional and physical. We regularly suggest massage as a treatment for stress management. Our massage therapists are certified by a recognized association and receipts can be issued for insurance purposes.

Craniosacral Therapy

Craniosacral Therapy

craniosacralCraniosacral Therapy (CST) is a light-touch body work system that relieves pain and releases tension deep within the body through gentle manipulations of the skull, which harmonizes the natural rhythm of the central nervous system.

CST engages the parasympathetic system of rest-and-repair, which makes it an excellent non-invasive method of mending and strengthening the immune system, bolstering disease resistance, promoting overall health and instilling a sense of well-being. The extremely gentle nature of CST also makes it a highly effective treatment for people of all ages with any number of aliments or injuries.

*Craniosacral is strongly recommended in conjunction with a massage or reflexology session.

Benefits of  Craniosacral Therapy

Because it complements the body’s own natural healing processes, craniosacral therapy is used to treat a wide range of health issues associated with pain and dysfunction, including:

  • Headaches
  • Neck and back pain
  • Releasing physical & psychological traumas registered in our body (face, jaw, cheeks, shoulders)
  • Central nervous system disorders
  • Insomnia
  • Chronic fatigue
  • Emotional difficulties
  • Stress and tension-related problems
  • Temporomandibular joint syndrome (TMJ)
  • Neurovascular or immune disorders
Reflexology

Reflexology

Reflexology
Reflexology is a natural healing art used to relieve tension, improve circulation, promote healing and enhance the body’s natural functions. It is based on the theory that certain reflex points on the feet, hands, and head are linked to every part of the body. Our reflexology treatment involves applying pressure to specific parts of the feet and may include the hands, head and ears.

Shirodhara

Shirodhara

shirodhara
Shirodhara is an ancient Ayurvedic technique that produces a profound calming effect on the body and mind. The name, shirodhara, is a composite of two Sanskrit words—shiro, meaning “head”, and dhara, meaning flow. Shirodhara consists of a stream of warm oil being poured slowly and steadily over the forehead. This treatment greatly reduces stress and restlessness. Within minutes we experience a sense of deep relaxation and as the session progresses our metabolic rate begins to drop, slowing our brain to a point where our nervous system enters a profound state of tranquillity. At this stage, long harboured tensions, stress and trauma are released and replaced with feeling of happiness and joy, even bliss—and we experience an expanded awareness of the events taking place in our life. After the session, it is common to find that we have been relieved of many stress-related disorders such as insomnia, anxiety and fatigue.

*Shirodhara is strongly recommended in conjunction with a massage session.
